Sidon Island, or what is known as “The Enchanted Zira”, constitutes one of the most important marine monuments of the city and a permanent destination for residents and tourists during the summer, in light of the high temperatures and the high cost of swimming pools. It is located 1.5 km from the beach, which is reached in minutes by cruise boats.
Zira is distinguished by its ancient history and as the last remains of the historic city of Sidon. Archaeologists differed about the origin of this island, but they believe that it was an external port in ancient times. This island consists of three parts: the big rock called the saw, the circular rock and the small rock.
This island is witnessing tourism and attracting a wide range of people and countries only. Today, it has become a haven for various commercial, artistic and recreational activities, and a destination for the practice of marine hobbies.
